Aiden was the strongest, bravest, most inspiring young man you could ever meet. He battled with Osteosarcoma for three years, fighting each piece of bad news time after time with humour and amazing spirit. His latest round of awful news came at the beginning of January when he found out he also had a brain tumour as well as a spinal tumour. He was due to start radiotherapy on these last week but the tumour had grown, and this was now no longer an option. He remained in good spirits and kept making us laugh but unfortunately the monster defeated him, at just 15 years old, just days later. He led his life to the fullest that he possibly could, inspiring our whole community with his fighting spirit and endless positive outlook.
Friends Of BCRT - Postage Stamp Appeal & More are running this duck race in memory of this duck mad warrior, starting on the day of his 16th birthday. Every penny we raise from this event will be donated to fund research into Osteosarcoma.
No parent should see their child go through the hell that Aiden and many others like him do so please help us make a difference to find a cure by buying at least one duck and sharing the details everywhere and by any means.
Is the most common type of primary bone cancer in children, teenagers and young adults. Osteosarcoma can affect people of any age, but most cases develop between the ages of 10 and 24 years and in people over 60 years old.The most common places it starts are the long bones, the thigh bone (femur), followed by the shin bone (tibia) and arm (humerus), then the jaws. In rarer cases, osteosarcoma can start in the skull, the ribs and small bones in the hand and feet.
The ducks cost £3.00 each.
